Calgary queers! It's Pride month and the Queer Joy! Project has two upcoming events-come make art and hang out! One event is for all 2SLGBTQ+ folks and focused on queer and trans joy 2 E • The other event is specifically for the sapphics and hosted in partnership with @lavenderclubyyc - check Insta for details.
What to expect: Come join us for this year's "Dyke and Trans March" to celebrate queer joy and show your support in fighting for queer rights. This year, in addition to celebrating queer existence, we gather in solidarity against the UCP anti-trans Bills 26, 27,and 29. Two of which are scheduled to take effect 2 days after the event. The route begins in Bowforth Park, where we will be led in a land acknowledgment and an indigenous prayer. Then will march along the route to our destination at Prince Island Park, where we will be met with music, stage performances and attractions as we gather in celebration of our community and acknowledgment of the trials ahead. Participants, queers and allies alike, are encouraged to arrive dressed as characters or authors of books that currently are, or have ever been banned. We encourage everyone to show up and demonstrate in resistance to all bigoted government censorship and exclusion of minority voices. Trans rights are human rights. Trans kids matter. Queer lives matter.

Fake Mustache's very first show was on June 23rd, 2005 - so 2025 marks 20 years of the troupe's drag and burlesque shenanigans!
Join us for a one-night-only celebration featuring unforgettable performances from across our two-decade history. Relive iconic numbers, reconnect with the community, and witness the evolution of Alberta’s longest-running drag collective.
The night will also include a local art installation and an exclusive first look at our upcoming Fake Mustache comic debut—a bold new chapter in queer storytelling, written by Fake Mustache founder Kait Hatch and illustrated by Kat Simmers.
