Board Games - Queer Calgary

7/27/2029, 6:00:00 PM

Come join Queer Calgary for a fun evening of board games, laughter and fun! We welcome anyone to attend, whether you’re a newcomer to gaming or an experienced board game enthusiast.

This event is happening at The Sentry Box. Please note that The Sentry Box is made up of two separate business entities. To access the building, please enter through the west entrance into the Sentry Box, not The Sentry Box Cards. We’ll be on the upper mezzanine, and signs will be placed on the tables to indicate our tables.

Please be aware that this event is not wheelchair accessible due to the approximately 9 stairs into the building.

However, please remember that these events are meant to be a safe space for the Queer community. Transphobia, homophobia, and discrimination of any kind are not welcome. Being a safe space also includes being respectful of photography. Before taking any pictures including people, please always ask for permission.

You can RSVP on Meetup here! Please note you are not required to sign up to attend, all of our ongoing programs are always open to walk ins!

Colleqtive (in-person)

7/27/2029, 7:30:00 PM

Please note that Colleqtive will now be meeting in room 106 instead of The Place.

Colleqtive is a peer support group for racialized 2SLGBTQ+ community members. This includes community members who are Black, Indigenous, and people of colour. This group is a closed space, only for those who the group is intended for. Join us in a colleqtive community space together!

Dial 106 on the intercom to be buzzed in. Please let us know that you're here for Colleqtive when we pick up.

We'll let folks in until 7:00, so please arrive before then!

This group is not a structured therapy group nor is it a dating space. If you are looking for further support, Outlink staff are available to meet with you one-on-one or in small groups by phone, text-based messaging, or video call upon request. They can also help connect you to other counselling and support services.

Please note that this meeting is moderated by Outlink staff and volunteers who reserve the right to remove anyone from the group who is in violation of our Safer Space Ground Rules.

If you'd like to take any pictures of the room or the group, please ask facilitators and participants first.

We will be meeting at the CommunityWise Resource Centre in room #106 (The Arusha room), located on the main floor (please see below for public health safety precautions). The CommunityWise building is located at 223 12 Ave SW. There is street parking outside the building. The closest LRT stations are Victoria Park, 3rd Street, and 1st Street stations.

Public Health Safety Precautions:

Public health and the safety of our communities is very important to us! The following safety practices are put in place for our in-person programming:

  • Wearing a mask is strongly encouraged.

  • If you have any cold, flu, or Covid symptoms (ex. fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose), we ask that you please do not attend.

  • There is a Shigella outbreak in the Beltline area. Please wash your hands before eating and after using the washroom to prevent the spread. Hand sanitizer is available as well.

  • The maximum capacity of the room is 25 people. The room can fit about 12 people comfortably.
