Recent studies have found that over 90% of Two-Spirit, trans and gender diverse individuals stop participating in sporting, fitness and physical recreation activities after coming out due to lack of inclusive and accessibility.
Our Fun & Fitness program creates a pathway to be able to reengage with those activities and our bodies through a variety of events which are all specifically for and by the trans and gender diverse community.
Registration opens about one week before the event here: https://skippingstone.janeapp.com/#/recreation-fitness

💬 Mind Maintenance: Check-In With Yourself 💬
Queer Calgary is teaming up with Homegrown Arts & Media Collective to this amazing workshop about checking in with yourself!
This workshop will be led by Katelyn Barraza (She/Her), RSW who works with Homegrown Arts & Media Collective.
At Homegrown Arts and Media Collective we believe in the power of people and stories. We know that mental health is key to creativity, productivity, and being our best selves. In a noisy, constantly-shifting world, life can feel overwhelming. Our emotions can build up, and our minds can wander and it feels like it's all too much.
You can sign up on Meetup or Eventbrite!
When 📅: Wednesday, August 20th - 5:30PM - 8:00PM
Where📍: Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers ( 1725 10 Ave SW #100, Calgary, AB T3C 0K1)
Cost 💸: Free! (Free light refreshments will be provided!)
We are so excited to spend some time together!
This workshop was funded and made possible by United Way of Calgary and Area!
