This takes place at our new office: #1900 736 6 Ave SW :)
Tender Hearts is for all 16 and over within the trans man or trans masculine umbrella. As well as all those looking to affirm, to explore, or are questioning a masculine gender identity. Tender Hearts focuses on growing a strong toolset around topics like self-compassion, relationships, and connection.
It is about creating space for positive, healthy expressions of masculinity.
This event will be held in the room near the entrance of the building. Look for the Skipping Stone sign!
Join us for our Queer Books & Banter, where we encourage a theme rather than a specific book so you can choose something you really want to read and talk about! We meet on the third Tuesday of every month! (With some exceptions)
This month we will be focusing on Canadian Literature!
Reading Recs:
1) Jonny Appleseed by Joshua Whitehead
Jonny Appleseed is a Two-Spirit/Indigiqueer youth trying to make his way in life in the city, but with seven days to make it back home for a funeral, Jonny must come to terms with his difficult past as he plans for the future. Come discuss this Canada Reads winning novel and all that the story offers us in truths about indigenous life in Canada.
2) Fifteen Dogs by André Alexis
Another Canada Reads winning novel, André Alexis' Fifteen Dogs explores human nature and intelligence. Two gods bet whether human intelligence is wasted on our species and grant it to fifteen dogs to determine if their lives would be better lived with human intelligence. Come discuss the benefits and burdens of human consciousness with us!
